The use and combination of Colors provokes a strong image and reflection of the featured pony. The background uses that combination of color to make a gorgeous scenery. The armor and and broken horn also introduce the well loved ( at least, loved by me) theme of war. How he is an Alicorn with heavy armor could say he may be a prince or a well trained or trusted royal guard. All in all, imagery of this kind is simply too amazing. I heavily enjoy anything like this and I'm a huge sucker for it too. I hope the person enjoys this as much as I do.
